...
Why have a coach?
A coach asks questions, provides insight and shares skills to help you
reach your goals, solve your problems and make the most out of you and
your opportunities. The increased focus and accountability encourage you
to accomplish more, more quickly than you will on your own.
How does coaching work?
Coaching is delivered during regular weekly sessions by telephone. The
client and coach discuss what's going on in the client's life and specific
things the client is working on. Homework is assigned and progress is
tracked. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action.
Does coaching by telephone work?
Coaching by telephone is enormously successful. Most clients find they
avoid visual distractions and focus more easily by telephone. It's convenient,
time- and cost-effective and gives the client a wider choice of coaches
from which to choose.
How much does coaching cost?
Fees for experienced, well-trained coaches typically range from $350 -
$700 a month for individual coaching and from $175 - $275 a month for
group coaching. Busy coaches prefer payment by credit card.
How do coaching and therapy differ?
Therapy generally focuses on emotional healing, causes of behavior and
how the person got to where they are. In contrast, coaching looks ahead
and focuses on action and removing obstacles to get the client where he
or she wants to go. Some people work with a coach while they are in therapy.
How would I get started?
Most coaches offer a get-acquainted interview or a sample coaching session.
Use the call to find out if you like the coach's personality and style.
Also learn if the coach has the training and background to understand
and work with your situation.
If you think having a coach will give you that boost you've been looking
for, Coach Dana offers a free 20-minute get-acquainted interview. No sales
pitch; just a chance for the both of you to get to know each other and
clarify what you want from coaching. Request your sample session by e-mailing Dana.
