what Dana's clients say ...
From Jennifer in San Diego
"My experience with Dana has been a lifesaver. I am classified as
a "highly functional" ADDer, but my psychiatrist insisted that
coaching be part of my treatment. I interviewed several coaches but found
myself the most comfortable with Dana. And I've found the monthly fee
more than worth it!
After two years of coaching from Dana, I've made so much progress:
- I manage my personal finances fairly well (a real challenge for me
in the past).
- My husband no longer has to tread carefully around my clutter to avoid
injuring himself.
- I'm managing to stay relatively organized at work and home.
- I've learned to manage my workload (I used to over commit regularly
at work and home).
- I've made great strides in "tricking" myself into staying
focused at work.
- I'm adept at identifying systems that work for me.
- And it has been a long time since I turned my house upside down looking
for keys or glasses! (A small thing, perhaps, but something that used
to frustrate me to no end!)
Furthermore, I'm pregnant now and thus cannot take my ADD meds, so coaching
has been my only salvation lately!"
From Scott in Portland, Oregon
"Dana has quickly become an indispensable part of my routine. My
law practice is hectic enough for a non-ADDer; for someone with AD/HD
like me, it's sometimes uncontrollable. Dana is an anchor in my week,
helping me pull it together and stay on track -- which has helped both
me and my clients tremendously."
From Lynne in Salt Lake City
"Dana Rayburn is an absolute Godsend.
What Dana has specifically done for me is given me accurate information
and concrete tools to help me manage and accept my ADD self. Even more
than that, though, is her immense capacity for compassion, caring, and
sensitivity. She is able to give me constructive criticism without my
supersensitive self curling up into a ball and rolling away. She is able
to say things in such a way that I listen and hear with my ears and my
heart; and she has provided unshakable moral support for me as I've undertaken
the journey to understanding my ADD, how it manifests, how to work with
it, and how I've learned to compensate for it. Most importantly, though,
she continually gives me the gift of how to honor myself.
As I said, Dana is an absolute Godsend."
From Jill in Medford, Oregon
"Dana Rayburn has been my coach for a year. She juggles the roles
of navigator, midwife, confidant and cheering section with grace, good
humor and unconditional positive support and regard. When I haven't believed
in myself, she has reminded me to face my fear and self doubt and then
go on. May the gods clone Dana and sprinkle her around the world."
From Lisa in Bridgeport, California
In a letter to Dana Lisa said
"Obviously, you must realize how
much your interaction has helped me to grow through this personal evolution.
But do you realize how? You say that I have done all the work - and that
is true BUT it is you who have gently guided without picking the trail.
You have been patient and kind, but brutally honest, when I was unknowingly
trying to talk myself into something that wasn't true for me. You sometimes
prompted me to question beliefs that I had previously accepted as my own
but never intended to. You went at my pace instead of using your own experience
to "get me through it quicker". But here is the most important
thing that I must thank you for...you have given me the skills to begin
to look at life differently and evaluate it in a much more effective way.
That is a gift that will last a life-time...thank you."
From L.J. in Grants Pass, Oregon
Deciding to work with Dana was exactly what I needed to help clarify my
goals. With today's hectic lifestyle, I was struggling to separate my
own desires from others' expectations concerning my personal life and
career options. Dana has helped me to bring all of that into focus, enabling
me to make choices that suit my needs, instead of those decisions being
made for me. The experience and growth have been wonderful.
From Leslie in Denver
"I am a psychiatrist recently out of residency and diagnosed with
ADD. Dana is my coach. Her help has been very important in the process
of learning to manage my ADD. I am taking medication, but without the
help of my coach, this last year would probably have been very out of
control. Dana helps me set priorities and goals and then checks in to
be sure that I am following through. She helps me sort through the chaos
and make reasonable goals. The task of setting up a private practice,
managing finances, new patients and paperwork would have been a heavy
burden. But things are running smoothly with Dana's help. She seems to
be able to cut through the anxiety and stream of thoughts I present her
with and gets to the heart of the problem. She then helps me organize
the solution into tasks that I can actually accomplish. In addition, she
is kind and not at all judgmental. I can show all my weakness to her without
the fear that she will think less of me. And for an added bonus, she has
a great sense of humor! What more could you want in a coach?"
From Bob on Long Island, New York
"My coaching experience with Dana has been life changing. ADD was
destroying my life. My marriage had failed. My business had failed. It
was at this point that I met Dana.
Dana helped me to understand my talents, my gifts and my limitations.
She helped me to identify and set goals, and then plan step-by-step what
I needed to do to accomplish them. She encouraged me to stretch, learn
and take risks in places where I feared failure. She celebrated with me
my successes, and offered encouragement, support and insight after setbacks.
Her wonderful sense of humor and incredible compassion has made these
very difficult times much, much easier. I still struggle every day with
ADD, but I have made a great deal of progress. I have learned that even
with ADD I am capable of succeeding, that I am not alone, and that I have
in Dana someone who has "been there and done that" and who really
understands. Without Dana, I simply would not be where I am today."
From Kathryn in Colorado
"Working with Coach Dana for 2 years has provided me the extra motivation
I need to commit to my goals and make improvements in my day-to-day habits.
These small improvements are adding up to dramatic positive changes in
my life and work."
