Six Questions to Help You Conquer Clutter
by Dana Rayburn, Adult ADD Coach

When it comes to clearing out clutter, do you get stuck on that old "I've gotta keep it; I might need it" dilemma like so many people do? The more stuff you have the harder it is to stay organized. Besides, if you own something but can't find it, use it or even remember why you acquired it, why have it at all?

Ridding your life of excess stuff is difficult at first but with some practice, it becomes easier and very rewarding! Ask yourself these questions to help you decide to keep something or not.

  1. How will I use this?
  2. How long has it been since I used it?
  3. What is the worst possible thing that would happen to me if I needed it and didn't have it?
  4. Is it out of date or broken?
  5. Do I need to keep the whole thing? (Can I tear out the article and toss the magazine?)
  6. Does it have legal or tax implications?
