Does Your Hidden Clutter Matter?

by | Dec 21, 2017 | Organizing ADHD | 0 comments

hidden clutterSome people call it clutter only when the mess is visible. Out in the open for the world to see. They assume hidden clutter doesn’t matter. I disagree.

Yes, visible clutter is embarrassing and frustrating. If you’ve lived through unexpected visitors to your office or home you know what I mean.

But, I think hidden clutter – the clutter no one but you knows about – is more corrosive than the piles and debris the world can see.

Hidden clutter festers a secret kind of shame. It eats at your self-confidence and integrity. No one else may know about the piles and bags and mess, but you do. And, you feel like a fraud.

At least that’s how I used to feel. My hidden clutter ate at me. Way back before I learned how to live clutter-free.

Hidden Clutter Ate At My Soul

Oh, I put on a good show for the world. From the outside, I looked like I had it all together. The visible parts of my world looked tidy enough. But, even the briefest peek below the surface exposed my Rooms of Shame and Closets of Chaos. Those Drawers of Disaster.

I’ve seen this in my clients and in my family and friends, too. People are drowning in stuff and don’t know what to do about it. They live in fear someone will drop by unannounced. Open that closet. Look behind that closed door.

This is why I’m so passionate about helping people learn to clear clutter. Because I know clutter is like a cancer that eats away at your soul and your confidence.

To live a successful and peaceful life you have to do something about ALL the clutter. The clutter everyone can see AND the hidden clutter.

We’ll be talking a lot more about clutter and how to get rid of it in the coming weeks. This is a huge problem and I’m tired of watching you struggle with it.

Hidden clutter. Visible clutter. The causes of clutter. All of it has to be exposed and dealt with. Especially if you want to live a more peaceful and effortless ADHD life.

Is hidden clutter eating at your soul? Don’t despair. Clutter-Free with ADHD starts January 16th. It’s my new 10-week clutter clearing group coaching program. More details coming soon.
