With ADHD, we’re always dealing with issues around getting our brains stimulated.
Sometimes, we’re understimulated, which leads to boredom and all kinds of difficulty focusing and being productive. Other times, we’re overstimulated, and that leads to its own set of problems.
And there are both positive and negative types of stimulation.
Sometimes we get ourselves stressed out and worked up because we desperately need the types of stimulation required to kick our brains into gear so we can get things done. But that’s not helpful or healthy in the long run.
The good news is that the right type of stimulation can bring us to a place of calm, productive focus.
