ADHD as excuse

Whether it’s you or someone you know who has ADHD, one huge issue that comes up is the question about whether ADHD is being used as an excuse or as a valid explanation for someone’s behavior.

How can you tell the difference?

If you have a spouse, significant other, business partner, employee, colleague, or friend who repeatedly blows it in one or more areas and then points to their ADHD, you might find yourself asking a very real question about how legitimate it is.

And likewise, if you have ADHD and you know that it’s affecting your relationships, how can you tell if you’re being fair to yourself and others? And what might you need to do differently?

Dana shares that this is one of the most frequently asked questions that comes her way, and how she answers it just might surprise you! The result is a discussion that gets a little emotional at times, but is an important one that we need to have.
